The experience of protection
ALU-Protect®* membrane is developed from experiences in civil protection and firefighting.ALU-Protect® membrane is a thin flexible layer of aluminum used to produce versatile and comfortable clothing and footwear for extreme conditions and mountain activities. With its temperature, a human body is emitting heat radiation in the infrared field (about 10 micrometers), ALU-Protect® membrane keeps this internal infrared radiation but also captures a portion of the infrared radiation coming from the external environment: ALU-Protect® membrane keeps reflecting, body heat reducing heat losses. The membrane ALU-Protect® exclusively utilizes “3 or 5 sandwiched layers”:
laminated to an insulating foam, a warm synthetic or wool lining and compressed to a second insulating foam then directly to the water repellent upper exterior nylon or leather: providing warmth, wind resistance and water resistance with excellent thermal insulation! Cold weather activities require great protection…. ALU-Protect® membrane provides footwear and clothing with maximum insulating perfermance : ALU-Protect® membrane structure is wind resistant, cold air cannot penetrate, the body retains its heat so feet stay warm and dry. Incomparable comfort! Totally weatherproof, the ALU-Protect® membrane protects against moisture and provides a super protective barrier from cold weather conditions, snow, rain and wind. The advantage of this construction makes the product very strong and comfortably warm to enjoy your activities.
It is important to take care of the products that have an ALU-Protect® membrane, to maintain the life expectancy of the product. After washing in warm water with a brush, or for the garments washed in the washing machine at 30° C, it is important to re-waterproof with a water repellent product like spray, then dry between 12 and 24 hours in a warm and place. Clothing or footwear with ALU-Protect® membrane are made with a very thin layer of aluminium combined with very light foam polyester insulation. These products are considered absolutely non-toxic and safe for health and the environment.
